Over-Wing Escape Slide 11/95
Applicability: Model 767 series aircraft, line positions 1 through 542, and equipped with over-wing escape slides.
Requirement: Action in accordance with the technical requirements of FAA AD 95-15-01 Amdt 39- 9304.
Note: Boeing Service Bulletin 767-57-0043 Revisions 1, 2, and 3 refer.
Compliance: Unless already accomplished in accordance with the initial issue of this Directive; before 24 November 1996.
Background: The FAA issued a Directive in response to the results of functional tests of over-wing escape slides, which revealed that some slides were damaged when they were deployed across sharp corners on the trailing edge of the wing and the large gaps between the trailing edge panels of the wing.
Amendment 1 is issued in response to the new Requirement Document which expands the applicability of the existing AD.
