Override/Jettison Fuel Pump 13/94
Applicability: Model 767 series aircraft line position 001 to 545 inclusive.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Boeing Alert Service Bulletin 767-28A0045 Revision 2.
Note: Sundstrand SB 5006286-28-A5 Revision 2 and FAA AD 94-11-05 Amdt 39- 8921 refers.
Compliance: Unless previously carried out, within 30 days from 8 December 1994.
Thereafter, repeat the inspection at intervals not exceeding 1000 hours time in service until the requirements of Boeing SB 767-28-0046 have been incorporated.
Background: The manufacturer has advised that a loose diffuser ring may cause damage to the impeller and pumping unit housing causing the pump to lock-up.
During dry fuel pump operation, a loose diffuser ring may result in metal-to-metal contact creating a potential ignition source.
This amendment adds terminating action for this directive.
