Smoke Detection System 7/86
Applicability: All models equipped with Autronics Corporation Model 2156-204 cargo compartment smoke detectors.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Autronics S.B. 2156204-26-01 dated 14 April 1986. Locally produced decals containing identical data as detailed in referenced Service Bulletin Page 4 will be acceptable.
Note: FAA AD 86-07-09 R1 Amdt 39-5309 refers.
Compliance: Within 30 Days after 31 July 1986.
Background: 1. The equipment manufacturer has detected incorrect lamps fitted to detectors returned to them for repair. 28 volt lamps which are physically interchangeable with the correct lamp will render the smoke detector inoperative.
2. This Directive is raised in issue to reflect the Autronics Corporations requirement for General Instrument Corporation P/No CM 382 AS10 or CM 382 AS15 lamp fitment only.
