AD/BAL/17 Turning Vents - Cameron Balloons Ltd (Thunder and Colt)

Applicability: All Thunder, Colt, and Thunder and Colt envelopes fitted with turning vents, and with a Constructors number lower than 3550; (all Oswestry built envelopes).
Requirement: Action in accordance with Cameron Balloons (Thunder and Colt) SB No.2 Issue 1 Rev.C.
Note: UK CAA AD 001-07-96 refers.
Compliance: Inspect within 10 hours time in service after 18 September 1996; and if required, repair within twenty hours time in service after 18 September 1996.
The inspection only, may be carried out by the pilot in command, in which case an entry is to be made, and certified, in the appropriate section of the approved Balloon Log Book.
Background: This Directive is raised to ensure that certain hot air balloons equipped with turning vent have adequate reinforcing at the upper and lower ends of the vents.
