1900D UE-1 through UE-157
Requirement: Install lubrication fittings in the airstair door handle and latch housing mechanisms in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions section of either Raytheon Mandatory Service Bulletin (MSB) 2572 Issued July 1996, or Raytheon MSB 2572 Issued July 1996, Revision No.1, May 1998.
Note 1: Only Part II of the Accomplishment Instructions section of the Requirement document(s) applies to the affected Model 1900D aircraft.

Compliance: Unless already accomplished, within 100 hours time in service after 15 July 1999.
This Amendment becomes effective on 15 July 1999.
Background: The actions specified by this Directive are intended to prevent moisture from accumulating and freezing in the airstair door housing, which could result in the door freezing shut and the passengers not being able to evacuate the aircraft in an emergency situation.
Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revision of the related FAA AD which introduces revised applicable service information that corrects the number of required parts and changes an incorrect maintenance manual reference.
The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 6 November 1997.
