Federal Register of Legislation
COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Beechcraft 200 (Super King Air) Series Aeroplanes
AD/BEECH 200/42 Amdt 1
Engine Fuel Drain Connections 5/84
Applicability: All model 200, serial numbers below BB-666, below BL-10 and below BT-17. Requirement: 1. Action in accordance with Beechcraft SI No. 1013 Rev. 1, OR 2. Alternatively the intent of Service Instruction No. 1013 Rev 1 may be accomplished by developing a modification acceptable to the Secretary to;
(a) Replace the PN330995-4-180 hose with a locally manufactured equivalent -6 hose and associated AN807-60 fitting, AND
(b) Achieve compatibility of the new AN807-6D fitting with the existing PN131066-2-320 hose and engine drain manifold.
Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service after 1 June 1984.
Background: One instance of FWD combustion chamber drain hose and fuel manifold dump valve hose cross connection resulted in significant quantities of water and other contaminants reaching the nacelle tank via the combustion drain and collector tank. Because of the occurrence AD/BEECH 200/42 was issued requiring an immediate inspection of all affected aircraft. This Directive is amended to extend the applicability for aircraft serial numbers below BT-17 and introduce the installation of modified engine drain lines.
