Compliance: Within 200 hours time in service after the effective date of this directive.
This airworthiness directive becomes effective on 16 July 1998.
Background: This directive requires replacement of the wiring for the engine fire detector system with fire resistant wiring. The directive resulted from a discovery during aircraft production of the potential for the existing fire detector system wiring to fail because of high heat or fire. Replacement of the wiring is intended to prevent possible failure of the engine fire detector system to provide an engine fire annunciation in the cockpit.
