Applicability: All model A36TC or B36TC aircraft fitted with Teledyne Continental Motors (TCM) TSIO-520-UB engine.
Requirement: Inspect TCM P/N 642668, welded turbocharger inlet assembly for cracks especially in the weld joint just above the turbine inlet temperature boss. If a crack is found, replace P/N 642668 with P/N 646795 turbocharger inlet assembly before further flight, in accordance with Beechcraft Service Communique No 70.
Note 1: FAA AD 89-24-03 Amdt 39-6386 refers.
Note 2: To assist with identification, the 646795 assembly has 2 ribs approx 6 mm (0.25 inches) in height, 2.5 mm (0.1 inches) in width and 53 mm (2.1 inches) in length on top of the turbocharger mating flange.
Note 3: If P/N 642668 is not installed no further action is required.
Compliance: Before initial issue of a Certificate of Airworthiness. Thereafter reinspect at each inspection for issue of a Maintenance Release.
