Engine Fuel Metering Unit 9/96
Applicability: Bonanza A36TC aircraft serial numbers EA-1 through EA-146.
Requirement: To reduce the possibility of a fuel leak which could result in an engine compartment fire, carry out the requirements detailed in Beechcraft Mandatory Service Bulletin (MSB) Number 2420 Revision 1, "Accomplishment Instructions", Parts I or II and III.
Note: FAA Airworthiness Directive 92-17-01 refers.
Compliance: Effective 15 August 1996:
1. Beechcraft MSB No. 2420 Rev.1, "Accomplishment Instructions" Parts I or II; within 50 hours time in service.
2. Beechcraft MSB No. 2420 Rev.1, "Accomplishment Instructions" Part III; at intervals not to exceed 130 hours time in service.
Background: This directive was originally issued in March 1993 to require the inspection and modification of the engine fuel metering unit. The requirement was published to reduce the possibility of a fuel leak which could result in an engine compartment fire. This amendment introduces a requirement to fit a fuel metering unit drain hose with a higher temperature tolerance material, and a requirement to carry out a repetitive inspection of that drain hose.
The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 4 March 1993.
