AD/BEECH 36/45 Inspection for Flight Control Interference with Wiring
Applicability: This Directive is applicable to the following aircraft:

A36 E-3058 through E-3156 inclusive, E-3158 through E-3170 inclusive, E-3172 through E-3177 inclusive, E-3180 through E-3185 inclusive, E-3187 through E-3198 inclusive, E-3200 and E-3202.
B36TC EA-594 through EA-610 inclusive, EA-613, EA-615, EA-616, EA-618, EA-619 and EA-621.
Requirement: Unless previously accomplished;
1. Inspect for interference or inadequate clearance between the flight control mechanism and any component located forward of the instrument in accordance with Raytheon Mandatory Service Bulletin (SB) 27-3232 dated March 1999.
2. If interference or inadequate clearance is found during the Requirement 1 inspection then secure all components clear of the flight control mechanisms in accordance with SB 27-3232.
Note 1. If Raytheon Safety Communiqué No 149 dated August 1998 or No 149 Rev 1 dated November 1998 has been carried out no further action is required.
Note 2. FAA AD 99-09-15 refers.
Compliance: 1. Within 25 hours time in service after 19 May 1999.
2. Prior to further flight after inspection.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 19 May 1999.
Background: There has been a reported incident were a Raytheon Beech Model 1900 aeroplane temporarily lost aileron and elevator control when the control column became restricted. Upon investigation the cause was found to be electrical/avionics wiring located forward of the instrument panel entangled in the flight control system "T" column.
