COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES Beechcraft 400 Series Aeroplanes AD/BEECH 400/12 Standby Instrument Lighting Control 3/96 Applicability: This Directive is applicable to Beechjet Model 400 aeroplane, serial number RJ-61 only; Model 400A aeroplanes, serial numbers RK-1 through RK-80 inclusive, and Model 400T aeroplanes, serial numbers TT-1 through TT-108 inclusive. Requirement: Modify the standby instrument lighting system in accordance with Beechcraft Mandatory Service Bulletin 2563 dated February 1995. Note. FAA AD 95-25-06 Amdt 39-9451 refers. Compliance: Within 200 hours time in service after 29 February 1996. Background: The FAA has advised of a report indicating that, due to the design of the standby instrument lighting system, the lighting for the standby instruments dimmed to an unacceptable level when the main electrical power was turned off. The actions specified by this Directive are intended to ensure that the standby instrument lighting system adequately illuminates the standby instruments, if normal electrical power is lost or is turned off as a result of fire or smoke in the cockpit.
