COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES Bell Helicopter Textron Canada (BHTC) 206 and Agusta Bell 206 Series Helicopters AD/BELL 206/138 Turbine Outlet Temperature Indicator 12/96 Applicability: This Directive is applicable to all Bell Model 206L-1 helicopters equipped with Kratos turbine outlet temperature (TOT) indicators part number (P/N) 124.444-6 and 124.444-20. Requirement: Remove Kratos TOT indicator P/N 124.444-6 or 124.444-20 and replace it with any other TOT indicator approved for use on the Bell Model 206L-1 helicopter. (Bell Helicopter Textron Alert Service Bulletin 206L-94-94 Revision A dated 11 July 1994 refers.) Note: Transport Canada AD CF-96-13 also refers. Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service after 7 November 1996, but not later than 28 February 1997. Background: Transport Canada has advised that during engine starts with a depleted battery, the Kratos TOT indicators listed above, can display an erroneous low temperature. The erroneous low temperature indications can result in an overtemperature condition of the engine turbine and subsequent thermal damage to engine components.
