SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

(BHTC) 206 and Agusta Bell 206 Series Helicopters
AD/BELL 206/149 Magnetic Brakes 2/2002 DM
Applicability: Agusta-Bell AB 206B helicopters equipped with magnetic brakes Part Number (P/N) 204-001-376-3 manufactured by Memcor Truohm (Vendor P/N MP498-3).
Note 1: Magnetic brakes P/N 204-001-376-3 with Serial Numbers 48150, 48152,
48165, 48166, 48169, 48170, 48171 and 48172 are not affected by this Directive.
Requirement: Verify the correct installation of the cyclic magnetic brake adjustable stop screws in accordance with Agusta Bollettino Technico 206-236 dated 19 November 2001.
Note 2: Italian Ente Nazionale per l'Aviazone Civile AD 2001-524 refers.
Compliance: Within 25 hours time in service after the effective date of this Directive, but no later than 28 February 2002.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 16 January 2002.
Background: Agusta has received reports that adjustable stop screws on magnetic brake P/N 204- 001-376-3 had backed out and limited the travel of the arm assembly. Investigation revealed that brake units manufactured by Memcor Truohm Inc under P/N MP498-3 had the stop screws installed without the proper adhesive.
This Directive requires an inspection to verify correct installation of the adjustable stop screws.
