SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Pilatus Britten-Norman BN-2 Series Aeroplanes
AD/BN-2/81 Control Cable Swivel Unit Mounting Bracket 1/2004
Applicability: All BN2 Series Islander aircraft.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Pilatus Britten-Norman Mandatory Service Bulletin BN- 2/SB.218 Issue 1, dated 26 May 1995.
Note: UK CAA AD 009-05-95 refers.
Compliance: Unless already accomplished, at the next 100 hour inspection after 22 January 2004.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 22 January 2004.
Background: Reports were received of the engine/propeller control cable swivel unit mounting bracket failing due to cracking of the bracket in the area of the corner radii. This bracket is located behind the instrument panel console.
This Directive is issued following a review of current UK CAA Airworthiness Directives applicable to BN2 Series Islanders.
