Tail Rotor Blade Grips 2/87
Applicability: All Models fitted with tail rotor blade grips P/N 105-31711 and 105-31722.
Requirement: 1. Inspect the clevis area of each grip in accordance with BO 105 Alert Bulletin No 18.
2. Inspect the inboard end of each grip in accordance with BO 105 SB No 30-24.
3. Inspect each grip in and around the hole for the laminated-pack retaining bolt in accordance with BO 105 SB No 30-24.
Compliance: For Para's 1 and 2 - At each 100 hour inspection of the tail rotor.
For Para 3 - At each 600 hour inspection of the tail rotor.
Background: Cracks in the tail rotor blade grips have been found in service. This Directive addresses the requirements of MBB BO 105 Alert Bulletin 18 and Service Bulletin No 30-24, and LBA Directives 78-339 MBB and 79-144 MBB.
