Eurocopter BO 105 Series Helicopters
AD/BO 105/6 Fuel Filter Drain Valve 9/86 DM
Applicability: All model BO 105 helicopters fitted with engine fuel filter drain valve P/No P101- 228.
Requirement: Action in accordance with MBB Alert Service Bulletin ASB BO 105-60-101.
Note: German AD 86-148 MBB Refers.
Compliance: Corrective action 1 of Requirement Document:
Before further flight after 22 August 1986. Corrective action 2 of Requirement Document: At each daily inspection after 22 August 1986.
Corrective action 3 of Requirement Document:
This action may be carried out before further flight after 22 August 1986 in which case corrective actions 1 and 2 need not be complied with.
Note: Corrective action in accordance with action 3 is an interim measure until manufacturer can supply improved drain valves.
Background: Draining the fuel filters at preflight checks may loosen the handle of the shutoff plunger and under adverse conditions may cause the drain valve to disintegrate.
