SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Casa 212 Series Aeroplanes
AD/CASA/24 Fuel Pump 2/97
Applicability: All model C-212 aeroplanes equipped with Parker Aerospace (Parker Hannifin Corporation, Airborne Division) fuel pumps part number A/M 2C37-2.
Requirement: 1. Inspect the fuel pump cover for evidence of arcing in accordance with Construcciones Aeronaúticas S A document COM 212-252 dated 15 July 1996.
2. If evidence of arcing is found, action in accordance with paragraphs 4 through 7 inclusive of COM 212-252.
Note: Spanish DGAC AD 10/96 refers.
Compliance: For Requirement 1 - Within 100 hours time in service after 30 January 1997 and if evidence of arcing was not detected during the initial inspection, repeat the inspection at intervals not exceeding 300 hours time in service.
For Requirement 2 - Prior to further flight after the Requirement 1 inspection.
Compliance with Requirement 2 constitutes terminating action for the repetitive inspections of Requirement 1.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 30 January 1997.
Background: Evidence of electrical arcing has been detected on several fuel pumps. Actions specified by this Directive are intended to provide early detection of arcing and a method designed to prevent the arcing occurring.
