AD/CESSNA 120/10 Fuel Selector Valve 6/2003
Applicability: Cessna 120 and 140 aircraft serial numbers 8001-8480 inclusive. Requirement: 1. If fitted remove the embossed pointer from the fuel selector handle. 2. Verify that the fuel selector handle is installed so that the handle indicates correctly the position of the selector valve as shown by the valve placard.
Note: FAA AD 47-43-02 refers.
Compliance: Unless previously accomplished within 100 flight hours or twelve months from the effective date of this directive.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 12 June 2003.
Background: The embossed pointer fitted to the fuel selector handle can lead to confusion when operating the selector valve. This directive requires the removal of the embossed pointer and a check to ensure the valve operates as per the cockpit placard.
