Nose Gear Upper Torque Link 9/71
Applicability: All 172, F172, FR172 and 175 series fitted with nose gear upper torque links numbered 2014 K.A.E. with or without a prefix or suffix.
Requirement: 1. Inspect the nose gear upper torque link for cracks in the area of the stop block and the flanges of the "I" section of the link.
2. All paint shall first be removed with a suitable solvent from the area to be inspected. The inspection shall be made by the dye penetrant method or with the aid of a 10X magnifying lens.
3. Restore protective finish when inspection has been completed. Compliance: At intervals not exceeding 300 hours time in service after 1 September 1971.
