AD/CESSNA 170/45 Rudder Trim/Nose Gear Steering Bungee 9/81
Applicability: All model 172 RG with S/Nos 172 RG 0001 to 172 RG 0769.
Requirement: Replace P/N 2467003-1 rudder trim/nose gear steering bungee with P/N 2467003-6 rudder trim/nose gear steering bungee.
Note: FAA AD 81-14-06 Amdt 39-4158 and Cessna Single Engine Service Letter SE 80-99 Rev 1 refer to this subject.
Compliance: (a) Before further flight for aircraft experiencing elevator control movement limitation as described in AD/CESSNA 170/44.
(b) For aeroplanes with over 150 hours total time in service: within 100 hours time in service after 29 July 1981.
(c) For aeroplanes with less than 150 hours after 29 July 1981: prior to the accumulation of 250 hours total time in service.
Background: The rudder trim/nose gear steering bungee is replaced with a later design to prevent failure of the jack screw shaft.
