Cessna 206 Series Aeroplanes
AD/CESSNA 206/50 Flight Controls - Inspection 8/99 TX
Applicability: Model 206H serial numbers; 20608002 through 20608026, and T206H aeroplanes, serial numbers ; T20608002 through T20608015; T20608017 through T20608023 and T20608025 through T20608028.
Requirement: 1. Inspect the left and right wing aileron control bellcrank stop bolts and lock nuts for flush and tight contact with the surface of the threaded boss on each end of the yoke assemblies as detailed in the instructions published in Cessna Special Service Project SSP99-27-02 dated 18 May 1999.
2. Following the inspection at Requirement 1 above, perform follow on and corrective action on all aircraft as detailed in the instructions published in Cessna Special Service Project SSP99-27-02 dated 18 May 1999.
Note: US FAA AD 99-13-04 Amdt 39-11197 dated 18 June 1999 refers.
Compliance: 1. Within the next 10 hours time in service or within 60 days of the effective date of this Directive whichever occurs sooner.
2. Before next flight.
This Airworthiness Directive become effective on 7 July 1999.
Background: An unsafe condition has been found during the inspection of a Cessna 206H that could exist in other serial number aircraft with the same aileron system design. The situation could lead to partial or complete loss of aileron control and so a safety of flight Airworthiness Directive has been issued by the FAA to inspect all such aileron systems. This Directive reflects the content and urgency of the US FAA AD.
