Bladder Type Fuel Cells 6/85
Applicability: All models with S/Nos as listed in Cessna SIL SE 84-4.
Requirement: Inspect fuel cells in accordance with Cessna SIL SE 84-4 and record the result in the aircraft log book. Where cells exhibit wrinkles or folds, purge fuel system of moisture or other contaminants.
Note: Additional information on fuel system purging is contained in Cessna Owner Advisory SE 82-36A.
Compliance: 1. AIRCRAFT NOT MODIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CESSNA SIL SE 84-9, Rev 1.
Initially, before further flight after 31 August 1984 for cells currently fitted, and at installation of any cell after 31 August 1984. Thereafter, for cells that exhibited signs of unacceptable wrinkles or folds at initial inspection, repeat the system purging procedures at each issue of a new Maintenance Release.
2. AIRCRAFT MODIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CESSNA SIL SE 84-9, Rev 1.
When future cell replacement is required, carry out further SIL SE 84-9 Rev 1.
3. For aircraft that have complied with the previous issue of this Directive, the log book statement requirement shall be made before the issue of the next Maintenance Release after 30 June 1985.

The fuel cap testing requirement has been removed and now becomes the subject of a separate Directive. Editorial changes and a requirement for log book statements are also included.
