Forward Baggage Door 7/88
Applicability: Models PA 34-200 S/Nos. 34-7250001 to 34-7450220, PA 34-200T S/Nos. 34-7570001 to 34-8170092 and PA 34-220T S/Nos. 34-8133001 to 34-8633031 and 3433001 to 3433088.
Requirement: 1. Unless previously accomplished; action in accordance with Piper SBs 633B Parts 3 and 4.
2. Unless previously accomplished; action in accordance with Piper SB 872.
Note: FAA AD 88-04-05 refers.
Compliance: At the next scheduled inspection for Maintenance Release issue after 31 July 1988.
Background: The manufacturer has additional reports of the forward baggage door opening in flight. Investigation has indicated that damaged keys and keylocks are a factor. Amendment 3 of this Directive requires modification, if not already accomplished and additional work to Piper SB 872.
