AD/PA-34/7 Amdt 2
Aft Wing Assembly - Inspection 7/73
Applicability: All model PA-34-200 except those incorporating Piper Kit P/N 760696V and on which the main landing gear struts have been reserviced in accordance with Piper SB No. 406.
Requirement: Part 1
Visually inspect both left and right wing lower surface skins for wrinkling immediately outboard of the wheel well openings.
Part 2
With the aid of a light and mirror inspect, through the wheel well openings, the following areas for cracks and signs of distress:
1. The area where the main landing gear aft trunnion fitting is attached to the rear false spar; and
2. The aft rib assembly (Station 69.24 left and right) where the false spar is attached.
Note 1: The Part 1 inspection may be performed and certified by the pilot.
Note 2: Implementation of a modification or repair in accordance with Piper SB 369 does not remove the recurring inspection requirements of this Directive.
Compliance: For Part 1 - Before further flight unless already accomplished in the last 10 hours time in service and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 10 hours time in service and following an unusually fast and/or heavy landings.
For Part 2 - Within 100 hours time in service after 17 July 1973 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 100 hours time in service; and Immediately following discovery of skin wrinkles as detailed in Part 1 of this Directive.
