Applicability: All model PA-44-180 with S/Nos. 44-7995001 to 44-8095027. Document: 1. Piper SB No. 689A; or 2. FAA AD 80-21-11 Amdt. 39-3938.
Compliance: Unless previous inspection in accordance with AD/PA-44/6 indicated no binding of the aileron push rod, within 50 hours time in service after 21 November 1980.
Background: This Directive is raised in issue to require the replacement of the aileron push rods as well as the bellcrank if the push rod is found to be tight or will not rotate throughout the aileron travel.
