Requirement: 1. Install an engine operating limitation placard on the pilot's side instrument panel in accordance with the procedure detailed in Piper Service Bulletin No. 982, Instructions 1, 2 and 3. 2. A Flight Manual amendment, reflecting the requirements of Piper Service Bulletin No. 982, Instruction 4, is required and is available to Certificate of Registration holders on request to the Authority. Note: FAA Airworthiness Directive 95-23-12 refers. Compliance: Prior to 30 April 1996. Background: This Directive has been issued to require an amendment to engine operating procedures. The requirement has been issued to prevent fatigue damage to the propeller caused by operating the engine above certain manifold pressure limits.
