Propellers - Variable Pitch - Beechcraft
AD/PB/1 Beech Model 278 Series - Inspection 8/62
Applicability: All model 278 propellers with more than 200 hours time in service since new.
Requirement: 1. Remove the propeller spinner and visually inspect for cracks and oil leaks in the weld area where the aft side of the hub barrel is joined to the hydraulic cylinder.
2. Inspect the hub by magnetic particle inspection or approved equivalent method. Give particular attention to the weld area where the aft side of the barrel is joined to the hydraulic cylinder.
Note: Repairs are not permissible.
or Beech Propeller SB No. 6; or FAA AD 62-17-1. Compliance: For para. 1 - Within 25 hours time in service after 1 October 1962 and thereafter at intervals not exceeding 100 hours time in service. For para. 2 - Before installation in an aircraft following each propeller overhaul completed after 1 October 1962.
