Pilatus PC-12 Series Aeroplanes
AD/PC-12/17 Windshield Heat Wiring 8/99 TX
Applicability: All Model PC-12 and PC-12/45 aeroplanes with Manufacture's Serial Numbers 101 up to and including 320, equipped with windshields Pilatus Part Number (P/N) 959.81.10.107 LH and 959.81.10.108 RH (PPG P/N NP 172121-5 LH and NP172121-6 RH.
Note: Affected windshields can be identified by the presence of three imbedded temperature sensors on the outboard edge of the windshield.
Requirement: Modify the electrical wiring in accordance with Pilatus PC-12 Service Bulletin 30- 005.
Note: FOCA Switzerland AD HB 99-347 refers.
Compliance: Before further flight.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 28 June 1999.
Background: FOCA has received several reports of overheating of the windshield de-ice system electrical power supply and temperature sensor wires located between terminal block TB152 and the windshield. This condition, if not corrected could result in total loss of electrical power in the aircraft.
