AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE

For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Pilatus PC-12 Series Aeroplanes

AD/PC-12/33 Operational Limitation Placard 13/2002

Applicability: Model PC-12 and PC-12/45 aircraft, with Manufacturers Serial Numbers (MSN)101, 103 through 120, 122 through 165, 167 through 175, 178 through 289, 291 through 333, 335 through 341, 345 through 380, 382 through 410, 413 through 435, 437, 438, 440, 443, and 448.

Requirement: Action in accordance with Pilatus Aircraft Mandatory Service Bulletin 11-003, dated 16 September 2002.

Note: Switzerland FOCA AD HB 2002-609 refers.

Compliance: Before 31 January 2003, unless already accomplished.

This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 26 December 2002.

Background: It is possible that some aircraft have Operational Limitation placards installed that do not show the IFR clearance, although all aircraft are IFR approved. An unknown number of placards were manufactured without the abbreviation "IFR".
