COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 107 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Propellers - Fixed Pitch
AD/PFP/15 Sensenich Propeller - Engine Combination 6/89
Applicability: All Sensenich model M76AM-2 or 76AM6-2 series propellers installed on Lycoming O-290-D2 engines.
Requirement: Remove from service and metal stamp the word "UNSERVICEABLE" on the propeller hub.
Note: M74DM or 74DM6 propellers may be installed as replacements.
Compliance: Within 25 hours time in service after 25 April 1989 or by 31 May 1989 which ever occurs first.
Background: Due to recurring tip failures, Sensenich issued SB No 3, dated November 1956, requiring M76AM-2 or 76AM6-2 propellers to be retired from service. This was advised via AD/PA-20/6 but due to a recurrence of this combination on other aircraft types it has now been extended to all installations involving this engine and propeller combination.
