Propeller Blade Shanks 7/96 DM
Applicability: All model 14RF-9 propellers with blade serial number below 885751. These propellers are installed on but not limited to Embraer 120 aircraft.
Requirement: 1. Action in accordance with Hamilton Standard Service Bulletin No 14RF-9-61-86 Revision 4 or Hamilton Standard Alert Service Bulletin 14RF-9-61-A90, as applicable.
2. Action in accordance with Hamilton Standard Alert Service Bulletin 14RF-9-61- A92 Revision 2 and is applicable to all propeller blades including those blades which failed the inspection called up in Requirement 1.

Compliance: Requirement 1: Unless previously carried out, prior to 22 May 1996.
Requirement 2: Unless previously carried out, prior to 31 August 1996.
Background: The manufacturer has advised that the in-flight loss of part of a propeller blade has occurred. Amendment 1 raised to mandate compliance with SB 14RF-9-61-A92 Revision 1 and to delete Note 1 in the original issue of this Directive. Amendment 2 makes reference to FAA AD 96-08-01 and Revision 2 of Hamilton Standard ASB 14RF-9-61-92.
The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective 30 November 1995.
Amendment 1 of this Airworthiness Directive became effective 2 February 1996.
