Robinson R44 Series Helicopters
AD/R44/2 Cyclic Control System 3/95
Applicability: Model R44 series helicopters with serial numbers less than but not including serial number 0017.
Requirement: Remove the following cyclic control system parts and replace them with the corresponding replacement parts in accordance with the applicable maintenance manual:

Compliance: Prior to the issue of a Certificate of Airworthiness.
This Directive is effective from 2 March 1995.
Background: The FAA has determined that the original cyclic control system design meets existing FAA design standards, but has limited damage tolerance characteristics and does not display slow crack growth properties. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent failure of the cyclic control system and subsequent loss of control of the helicopter.
