COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 106 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Rotax Piston Engines
AD/ROTAX/4 Electronic Module With Filter 2/96
Applicability: This Directive is applicable to all 912A series engines from serial number 4,076.064 to serial number 4,380.753 inclusive.
Requirement: Replace the electronic ignition module part number 965 356 with part number 965 358 in accordance with Bombardier Rotax Technical Bulletin 912-08 dated 16 August 1995.
Note: Austro Control (Austria) AD 84 dated 4 October 1995 refers.
Compliance: At the next 100 hour inspection, but not later than 1 March 1996.
Background: Electronic modules with integrated pi filter protect the ignition from electromagnetic interference. EMI tests have revealed that poor engine performance, or engine cut- out, could result in areas of heavy radio transmission.
