Rotax Piston Engines
AD/ROTAX/7 Fuel Pump P/N 996 592 7/98
Applicability: Rotax 912A, 912F model engines as detailed in Bombardier Rotax Technical Bulletin Number 912-20R1, and
Rotax 912UF model engines as detailed in Bombardier Rotax Technical Bulletin Number 1UL 98-D/E R1.
Requirement: Replace the engine fuel pump and steel fuel line in accordance with the requirements of Bombardier Rotax Technical Bulletin Number 912-20R1 or 1UL 98-D/E R1 as applicable by engine model.
Note: Austrian Airworthiness Directive Number 94/1 refers.
Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service from issue of this directive, or at next repair of a leaking fuel pump, whichever occurs first.
This airworthiness directive becomes effective on 18 June 1998.
Background: This directive has been issued to require replacement of engine fuel pumps incorporating a steel fuel line. The requirement follows advice of fuel pumps with steel fuel lines connected may be susceptible to cracking at the fuel line to pump fittings. The cracks could result in fuel leaks.
