COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 106 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Rolls Royce Turbine Engines - Spey Series
AD/RRT-S/7 Airflow Control Bleed Valve - Removal of Mod. 5866 11/83
Applicability: 511-5W, 511-8, 511-14, 511-14W, 555-15/555-15H/555-15N/555/15P. Featuring Mod. 5866 (SB Sp 72-916).
Requirement: Rolls Royce SB No. SP72-964 (Modification 6040).
Compliance: Before installation in an aircraft following next shop visit after 30th November 1983.
Background: Compliance with this Directive will supersede AD/RRT-S/6 which has been raised to alert operators of the possibilities of power stagnation and excessive TGT excursions associated with engine accelerations from low power settings. Incorporation of modification 6040 should prevent these stagnations caused by bleed valve mechanism stiction.
