Sikorsky S-76 Series Helicopters
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AD/S-76/64 Aero Aire Air Conditioning System 9/2000 DM
Applicability: Model S-76A helicopters with Aero Aire Air Conditioning System, part number (P/N) S-76A-1-2, modified in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certificate SH4680SW without Aero Aire Corporation Service Bulletin (SB) 970002 incorporated.
Requirement: 1. Inspect the soft-start control assembly in accordance with the Accomplishment Instruction, Section III, of Aero Aire Corporation SB No. 970001, Revision A, dated 18 September 1997,
Note 1: Neither contact with nor return of the soft-start controller unit to Aero Aire Corporation is required.
2. Install a soft start assembly retrofit kit (kit), P/N 76SB001, in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions, Section III, of Aero Aire Corporation SB 970002, dated 18 December 1997.
Installation of this kit is terminating action for the Requirement 1 repetitive inspections.
