COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Short SD3-30 Series Aeroplanes
AD/SD3-30/1 Galley Urn Restraint - Modification 5/81
Applicability: All models.
Requirement: Install, to a scheme approved by the Secretary, a restraint system to secure the galley urn against flight and emergency alighting loads, independent of the urn compartment door.
Compliance: Before initial issue or renewal of Australian Certificate of Airworthiness or within 2 months time in service after 30 April 1981 for aircraft already in service.
Background: During a First of Type Inspection it was noted that the urn was restrained only by the compartment door and this could present a hazard to the cabin attendant and passengers during an emergency landing.
