COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Short SD3-30 Series Aeroplanes
AD/SD3-30/17 Amdt 1
Fuel Pipe Fumeproof Shrouds 9/86 DM
Applicability: All model SD3-30 with S/Nos SH3002 to SH3099, SH3102 and SH3105. Requirement: Action in accordance with Shorts SB SD330-28-29, Rev. 1. Compliance: 1. Carry out "Inspection of the collector tank housings for evidence of fuel leakage" called for in the Shorts Maintenance Programme (zonal inspection 5-27-01, page 6 item 17) at every second 'A' check (120 hours time in service) after 31 December 1985 until modified.
2. Modify before 30 September 1986.
3. On completion of the modification, the inspection intervals referred to in item one 1. of the Compliance may return to the normal maintenance programme intervals.
Background: The manufacturer advises that operational experience has found that certain existing fumeproof shrouds can deteriorate and become porous. New shrouds manufactured to an improved specification have therefore been introduced. This Directive has been amended to include the latest Revision of the Requirement Document.
