COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Short SD3-60 Series Aeroplanes
AD/SD3-60/34 Emergency Lighting System 10/92
Applicability: SD3-60 series aircraft serial numbers SH3601 to SH3763 inclusive.
Requirement: Action in accordance with the requirements of Short Brothers PLC Service Bulletin SD360-33-23 dated 1 June 1992.
Note: This Service Bulletin has been classified as Mandatory by the CAA(UK).
Compliance: As per the Requirement Document with a revised effective date of 17 September 1992 for Australian registered aircraft.
Background: The manufacturer advises that the emergency lighting system does not meet the requirements of JAR/FAR 25.812 (f) (3) when the aircraft is on the ground and the aircraft's normal (generated) electrical power is lost. Compliance with this Directive corrects this deficiency.
