AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/SD3- 60/45 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Stub Wing Shear Decks 10/2003
Applicability: All SD3-60 aircraft, except aircraft with Service Bulletin SD360-32-35 incorporated. Requirement: Inspect in accordance with Short Brothers Service Bulletin SD360-53-42 Revision 1. Note 1: Further action may be required for aircraft in compliance with a previous issue of the Requirement document.
Note 2: UK CAA AD 005-09-96 refers.
Compliance: Unless the initial inspection has already been accomplished, before 30 April 1997; thereafter as specified in the Requirement Document, until Service Bulletin SD360- 32-35 is incorporated.
The compliance times remain unchanged by this issue. This Amendment becomes effective on 2 October 2003. Background: Reports were received of corrosion/wear to the top and bottom stub wing shear decks.
Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revision of the Requirement document, which includes reference to approved oversize bushes and clarifies retaining pin and circlip retention.
