SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
Short SD3-60 Series Aeroplanes
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/SD3-60/52 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Amdt 2
Elevator Trim Control Cables 9/2000
Applicability: All SD3-60 aircraft.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Shorts Service Bulletin SD360 27-27 Revision 2. Compliance: Inspect before 25 March 2000.
Upon the accumulation of 10,000 flights, replace all 7x7 type elevator trim control cables (as listed in para. C of the Requirement document) with 7x19 type cable.
The compliance times of the previous issue of this Directive remain unchanged by this issue.
This Amendment becomes effective on 7 September 2000.
Background: The manufacturer received reports of in-service failures of elevator trim control cables.
Amendment 1 introduced aircraft with Autoflight installation elevator trim control cables to the requirement.
Amendment 2 is issued in response to a revision of the Requirement document which includes identification of a new part number 7x19 type cable used on aircraft with Autoflight installation only.
