SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/SD3- 60/64 Amdt 1 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Vertical Stabiliser Shear Attachment Fittings 5/2004
Applicability: All Model SD3-60 aircraft.
Requirement: Inspect in accordance with Shorts Service Bulletin SD360-53-45.
Where unacceptable corrosion damage is detected on any of the web fittings, each affected fitting must be replaced before further flight.
Note: UK CAA AD G-2004-0005 refers.
Compliance: Initial inspection at the next 4800 Flight Hour structural inspection after
30 May 2004, but no later than 30 June 2004. Inspect thereafter as specified in the Requirement document.
This Amendment becomes effective on 13 May 2004.
Background: Corrosion has been found in the area of the vertical stabiliser main spar web fittings.
The web fittings act as shear attachments for the vertical stabiliser. Amendment 1 clarified inspection and reporting requirements.
Amendment 2 is issued in response to a new UK CAA AD, which introduces a revised inspection / replacement programme as a consequence of the additional reported findings associated with the previous Requirement document.
The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 20 March 2003.
