SICMA AERO SEAT and FARNER Cabin Attendant Seats

Applicability: All SICMA AERO SEAT cabin attendant seat series: 150, 151, 160 and 161 and all FARNER cabin attendant seats series 150 type WN and 151 type FN.
Note: The attendant seats can be found in, but not limited to, Airbus A319, A320 and A321 series aircraft.
Requirement: Install on each affected seat two protection fairings P/N 160100-49 in accordance with paragraph 2 of SICMA AEROSEAT:
Service Bulletin 150-25-026, or Service Bulletin 151-25-027, or Service Bulletin 151-25-032, or Service Bulletin 160-25-028, or Service Bulletin 161-25-029. For FARNER seats, install on each affected seat two protection fairings P/N 160100- 49 as per instruction given in paragraph 2 of SICMA AEROSEAT:
Service Bulletin 150-25-036, or Service Bulletin 151-25-037. and replace the existing identification placard with a new one as per instructions given in paragraph 3 of the service bulletin.
Note 1: DGAC AD 98-341(B) and AD 99-004(AB) refer.
Note 2: For Airbus A320 series aircraft, Airbus Industrie Service Bulletin A320-25-1208 Revision 1 is applicable.
Compliance: Before 17 August 1999.
This Amendment becomes effective on 17 June 1999.
Background: The bottom folding mechanism of the seat has a gap where children can have fingers trapped and injured. The DGAC has mandated the installation of protective plates to prevent contact with the bottom folding mechanism. Amendment 1 is issued as some affected seats were manufactured and identified by FARNER.
