This amendment becomes effective on 26 March 1998.
Background: A windshield wiper blade separated from the wiper arm while the wiper system was operating in flight. An investigation revealed that the wiper blade and arm tip separated from the wiper arm at the rivet attachment point. The incident resulted in propeller damage and penetration of the left side fuselage skin.
Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revision of the related LFV AD which introduces a new requirement document, which affects another type of wiper arm assembly.
The original issue of this airworthiness directive became effective on 14 August 1997.
