COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES SAAB SF340 Series Aeroplanes AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/SF340/61 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section. AD/SF340/61 Amdt 1 Cargo Bay Placards 7/2000 Applicability: Model SF340B with serial numbers SF340B-162, -163, -171, -205, -207, -230, -276, - 281, -289, -292, -296, -302, -308, -310, -311, -315, -316, -318, -327, -328, -331, -333, -336, -337, -351, -355, -357, -360 through -365, -368, -378 and -399. Requirement: Action in accordance with SAAB Service Bulletin 340-25-244 Revision 1. Note: LFV AD 1-118 R1 refers. Compliance: Before 13 October 2000, unless already accomplished. This Amendment becomes effective on 13 July 2000. Background: With the installation of a certain baggage net in combination with the kinked bulkhead, it has been found that the forward webbing of the net is too close to the aft face of the bulkhead. This situation may result in baggage overloading the bulkhead's floor attachments. This Directive requires the installation of placards. Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revision of the related LBA AD which adds three aircraft serial numbers to applicability. The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 11 September 1997.
