AD/SF340/70 Fuselage Insulation Pads at Wing Aft Area 7/99
Applicability: Model SF340A, serial numbers SF340A-004 through -159, and Model 340B, serial numbers 340B-160 through -459.
Requirement: Action in accordance with SAAB Aircraft AB Mandatory Service Bulletin 340-53- 061.
Note: LFV AD 1-141 refers.
Compliance: Unless already accomplished, before 31 December 1999.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 15 July 1999.
Background: The manufacturer has determined that insulation pads in the lower side of the fuselage at the wing aft area may come loose, cause interference with the aileron control cable segment and consequent unacceptably high control forces.
