COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY
SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
SIAI Marchetti S205 and S208 Series Aeroplanes
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/SM-205/25 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AD/SM-205/25
Amdt 1
Landing Gear Actuator Attaching Fork 3/2001 DM
Applicability: All Model S205-18/R, S205-20/R, S205-22/R, S208 and S208A aircraft.
Requirement: Carry out the inspection/modification called for by Aermacchi Alert Service Bulletin 205B-62.
Note: ENAC-RAI AD 2001-004 refers.
Compliance: Within 10 hours time in service after the 7 February 2001, unless already accomplished.
This amendment becomes effective on 7 February 2001.
Background: The RAI required an inspection of the main landing gear actuator attaching fork for fatigue cracking, failure of which would render inoperative both the normal and the emergency gear down functions.
Amendment 1 is issued in response to a new ENAC-RAI AD which requires further inspection and introduces a new clevis rod end made of steel.
David Alan Villiers
Delegate of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority 31 January 2001
The above AD is notified in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette on 7 February 2001.
