Cockpit Doors Hinge Tenons 12/97
Applicability: Models AS 332C, C1, L, L1, and L2.
Requirement: Action in accordance with Eurocopter France AS 332 Service Bulletin 01.00.50.
Note: DGAC ADs 97-109-061(AB) R1 and 97-108-006(AB) R1 refer.
Compliance: 1. Inspect within 50 hours time in service after 21 May 1997, or before 13 June 1997, whichever occurs first,
2. Replace all uncracked hinge tenons with new items within 500 hours time in service after 21 May 1997.
The compliance of the initial issue of this directive remains unchanged. This amendment becomes effective on 6 November 1997. Background: There were reports of cockpit door hinge failures that were attributed to incorrect shimming of the hinge tenons.
Amendment 1 is issued in response to a revision of the related DGAC ADs which introduce a service bulletin as the new requirement document.
The original issue of this airworthiness directive became effective on 21 May 1997.
