COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section. Eurocopter AS 332 (Super Puma) Series Helicopters AD/S-PUMA/46 Electric Hoists 2/2003 DM Applicability: AS 332 helicopters versions C, C1, L and L1, equipped with the optional Breeze 300 lb (136 kg) electric hoist and 91 M hoist box part number (P/N) 332A67-2875-00. Requirement: Identify the part number of the hoist box wiring in accordance with paragraphs 2.B.1 to 2.B.2.b of Eurocopter AS 332 Alert Service Bulletin (ASB) No. 25.01.18 and, if necessary modify the wiring in accordance compliance with paragraphs 2.B.2.c, or 2.B.2.d, or 2.B.2.e, or 2.B.2.f, as applicable, of the ASB. Note: DGAC AD 2002-584(A) refers. Compliance: Within the next 100 hours time in service (TIS) or 2 months, whichever occurs first, after the effective date of this Directive or before installing a spare 91 M hoist box. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 8 January 2003. Background: This Directive requires the modification of the 91 M hoist box to prevent the failure of the Breeze hoist pyrotechnic squib electrical control to operate.
