COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section. Aerospatiale (Socata) TB20 (Trinidad) Series Aeroplanes AD/TB20/43 Pitch Trim Actuator Seals 11/2003 Applicability: TB 20 and TB 21 aircraft Serial Number (S/N) 2042, 2050, 2056 to 2118, 2123 to 2125 and 2144. Requirement: Check and replace the pitch trim actuator tightness seals in accordance with EADS SOCATA Service Bulletin (S/B) TB No 10-135 dated April 2003. Note: DGAC AD 2003-286(A) refers. Compliance: At the next 100 hourly inspection or prior to 31 December 2003. This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 30 October 2003. Background: Non-conforming tightness seals fitted to the pitch trim actuator could lead to icing inside the actuator.
